Choosing a right college for your graduation is a must, as education plays the most important role in our lives because the one particular college you are going to attend has the capability to transform your behavior, career goals, hobbies and what not. But fresher's are so confused every time as they stuck between their thoughts and didn't decide how to select the best for them.
Things which you should check before taking admissions in the college:
1. Academic Background- To check the academic reputation of the college is a very initial step you should take first. Do check previous year status of the college, job placement and what graduates of the college are doing. Know about your professors, are they helping? Check each and every detail of your course well.
2. Ranking of the college- the Second step is that you should check on the ranking of the selected college that where it stands. Sometimes the college is good in academics but low in some other things and cannot make it to the top or average ranking so go through the ranking of the college after knowing its performance in academics.
3. Fee structure –everyone has a wish of getting into their dream college, but few make it possible. And most of them only think about them because of its high fee structure. So don't worry do check that your university does provide financial assistance like student loans or any other way to help if yes then go for it and if not then select some colleges in your budget and compare them properly before making any final commitments.
4. How far is the college- sometimes it's very near to our home and sometimes it's very far or in another city or state and yes of course in some other country also. After calculating your fee for your opted course does, calculate the other expenses like hostel fee and maintenance charges and so on. Prepare a checklist of the expenses of day to day activities and then calculate it and check that if you can afford that much. If not then select a college according to your budget which is not very far from the city you live.
5. What about social activities? yes, this is the final thing you should check because we all have some hobbies and we don't want to forget them just because we have to complete our studies, get a good job etc. music dance, drama, Arts and craft, sports this all makes our lives a little easy and happier. So collect the information about social activities your college provides so that it will make you perform even better in the college.
6. Selection Criteria – Now that is what is equally important that how to get into your selected college. If your college has an exam criteria then consult some of the seniors or the person who completed his graduation from that college and then prepare for it. There are some other criteria's too like sports quota, do check if your college provides them.
Does a college meet your academic, financial, social, and other personal needs? If so, then it could be the right one for you – even if it isn't at the top of a college rankings list.
