William Booth College at Champion Park, Denmark Hill in Central London is the headquarters of The Salvation Army leadership and officer training which delivers education and training programmes for the United Kingdom. Designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott, the college is a memorial to William Booth; it is Grade ll listed.
The college was proposed by William Booth's son Bramwell just after his father William's death, as a tribute to him. On 8 July 1929, the college was officially opened by HRH Prince George.William Booth was a visionary as well as a man of action and the college was built to give reality to one of his most breathtaking visions - that The Salvation Army should have a University of Humanity.
