Virginia International University (VIU) was established in 1998 as a private, non-profit institution in Fairfax, Virginia with a mission to provide affordable higher education to students worldwide. The university offers degree programs at both the undergraduate and graduate levels in computer science, business, education, public and international affairs. Virginia International University is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS), a nationally recognized accrediting agency by the United States Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
