The Technological Institute of Villahermosa was founded on Sept. 9, 1974, when the state's economy was based on very specific items: agriculture, livestock, fishing and four major industries were: sugar, chocolate, oil and gas.
In its beginnings the Institute lacked adequate infrastructure and shelter in other educational institutions are requested: 164 Industrial Technical School and the School Center on May 1. There followed years of struggle and the will to end the November 20, 1979, the Technological Institute of Villahermosa their own premises is moved at Km. 3.5 of the Frontera-Villahermosa highway, in the industrial park Villahermosa.
