State University "Hasdeu" in Cahul is a public institution founded on 7 June 1999 with the aim of preparing and providing municipalities in southern Moldova with highly qualified. University "BP Hasdeu" has three faculties: Faculty of Philology and History; Faculty of Law and Administration and Faculty of Economics, Computer Science and Mathematics, which train specialists in the following areas: Romanian Philology, English Philology, French Philology, History, Education, Law, Public Administration, Business and Administration, Finance and Banking, Accounting, Tourism, Engineering and management in transport (shipping), Computer Science and Mathematics. The teaching staff consists of 106 teachers with teaching degrees and scientific working at the following departments: Department of History and Social Sciences, Department of Romanian Philology, Department of English Philology, Department of French Philology, Department of Law, Department of Public Administration, Department of Finance and Accounting, Department of Economics and Business Management and Services, Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, Department of Applied Sciences, Department of Pedagogy and Psychology. Although it has a short history, University "BP Hasdeu" recorded very good results both in scientific research and in involving teachers in organizing and conducting extra-curricular activities, programs and projects aimed at developing the education sector in the southern region of Moldova.
