The mission of Kanazawa Medical University is: “to develop good doctors and nurses, to advance medical knowledge and skills, and to contribute to mankind.” By good doctors and nurses, we mean skilled physicians and nursing professionals who are also compassionate and have high ethical standards. To achieve this, we build a foundation with a focus on developing ethics and compassion.
Kanazawa Medical University was established in Uchinada, near Kanazawa City, in June 1972. Kanazawa City is a historic town, with a long history and tradition of medical education starting as far back as Japan’s feudal era around the year 1600. Kanazawa Medical University was the first private medical university to be built on the Japan Sea side of the country.
